As an Administrative Support Assistant (OA), you will perform the following duties:
Screen all incoming and outgoing correspondence for supervisors, reviewing it for correct format, punctuation, spelling, grammatical accuracy, factual correctness, enclosures, dates, signatures, complete addresses, etc. Act as a liaison with the National Weather Service (NWS) and National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Administrative Support Offices on all administrative matters. Schedule appointments and make arrangements for time, participants, and locations of meetings in accordance with instructions from supervisor or other higher graded personnel. Initiate and monitor processing of purchase orders for recurring and non-recurring service contracts, equipment, and supplies; and advise supervisor of budgetary discrepancies or impending shortfalls; maintain budget record, monitoring commitments, obligations, and funding requirements. Provide administrative support to staff and supervisors, including overseeing time and attendance, personnel actions, travel, and personal property. These duties are described at the Full Performance Level GS-08, the GS-07 is developmental leading to such performance. Experience:
Applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and responsibility to the next lower grade level in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. This experience need not have been in the federal government.Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies; knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.To qualify at the GS-07 level:

Preparing administrative correspondence for an office, such as reports, technical papers, messages or other documents; and Coordinating logistics for meetings, conferences, presentations, or appointments. To qualify at the GS-08 level:

Applicant must possess one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 in the Federal service. Specialized experience MUST include all of the following:
Performing administrative support functions for an office including coordinating travel logistics, office automation, and tracking budgetary or financial actions.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
