The Alcohol & Drug Counselor Intern plans, organizes, and implements clinical social work/ counseling services to consumers and families under the clinical supervision of a qualified supervisor.? Plans for discharge and aftercare.? Maintains contact with referring agencies and related people, and with community resources used for referral.? Maintains treatment records. The individual demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development appropriate to the consumer population served.? He or she must be able to assess and interpret data about the consumer?s status in order to identify each consumer?s needs and provide the appropriate care, including age-related care, needed by the consumer group. The individual demonstrates knowledge of the stages of change, a wellness and recovery model, and placement criteria as outlined in the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) patient placement guide.?


Our Outpatient?services offer therapeutic counseling, psychiatric services and substance abuse services for adults, children, adolescents and families. All services are based on a variety of evidence-based practices delivered by an interdisciplinary staff that includes psychiatrists, masters? level clinicians, family therapists, addictions specialists, social workers, peer support specialists, care coordinators and advanced practice nurses.

Services include:

  • Individual, group and family counseling

  • Therapy for adults and children age 6 and up

  • Psychiatry and medication monitoring for adults and children

  • Substance abuse counseling for adults and adolescents

  • Intensive outpatient services for adults with a substance abuse disorder

  • Intensive outpatient services for adults with a co-occurring mental health and substance abuse diagnosis


MSW from an accredited school of social work or Master?s Degree or Doctorate in counseling with at least one year of experience required and actively working towards certification as a CADC or licensure as a LCADC based on requirements set forth by governing authority or, actively working towards another health professional license that includes work of an alcohol and drug counseling nature within its scope of practice.? LAC or LSW required.

This position is full time; some evening hours are required.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
