County of Burlington County of Burlington Mount Holly, NJ Mount Holly, NJ Full-time Full-time $40,000 - $48,000 a year $40,000 - $48,000 a year 3 days ago 3 days ago 3 days ago The Burlington County Prosecutor's Office is seeking a Victim Witness Advocate Trainee who will learn how to provide services to victims, witnesses, and their families, and assist them with the aftermath of crime as the case progresses through the criminal justice system.
Duties:
Under the close supervision of the Victim Witness Unit Supervisor, learns how to discuss cases with victims and witnesses; learns how to accompany victims and witnesses to court to provide support; learns how to provide referrals for needed services such as counselling, social services and self-help groups; learns how to respond to questions or concerns regarding criminal justice procedures, rules, regulations, and the New Jersey Crime Victim's Bill of Rights; learns how to provide assistance to victims to prepare and deliver victim impact statements; learns how to provide assistance to victims in the completion of the Victims Crime Compensation Office application; participates in public engagements or community events to educate the public on the existence and purpose of the unit; prepares reports; learns and utilizes various types of electronic and manual information systems; establishes and maintains cooperative working relationships with those interested and/or involved in the work of the unit, such as assistant prosecutors, county detectives, command staff and local law enforcement; maintains essential records and files; and performs all other related duties as required.

Monday-Friday.

Requirements Education:
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree License:
Appointees will be required to possess a valid driver's license in New Jersey Note:
Offers of employment are contingent upon successful completion of an extensive background check.
Appointees who successfully complete the twelve (12) month training period will be eligible for the Victim Witness Advocate title (07003) in accordance with New Jersey Civil Service procedures.
